Morning Encouragement – The Many Paths to the Changeless God

Morning Encouragement
The Many Paths to the Changeless God
Good morning,
Many of you, like me, grew up in strong Christian homes, went to church on Sunday, and generally believed what our parents believed about God and serving him. During our formative years, we followed our parents’ footsteps because that was the only road we knew. When we became teenagers, our worldview was altered by forces like, drugs, the pervasiveness of sexuality, and dealing with self-identity issues.  Nowadays, kids as young as first and 2nd grade are indoctrinated into the world’s ways through various media, bullying, and a constant stream of nonsense. Unfortunately, we become caught in the cross-fire. Is this the end of the world as we know it? No, it is not! The Devil says, “Just embrace the world’s ways as many people cannot be wrong”. Then, an amazing thing happens, our world comes crashing down on us and we see our ways that led to where we are on a collision course with the God of the Universe. You see, there is a part in each of us that was placed by God that drives us to want to know the God of the Universe (Ecclesiastics 3:11). When we come to the place where God is, he does not cast slurs on us, nor does he go into great detail why we were wrong; simply, he takes us by the hand and helps us to our feet and then holds us close to him.
When we get on the road to the Kingdom of God, it does not imply that the side roads of our life never existed; rather, they are paths for others to take to get where you are (verse – through patience can have hope). Why doesn’t God just remove every offensive path and create one path in the world? Because, God wants us to think for our self and to put the story of salvation in the infrastructure of our character; meaning, no one person comes to the Lord in the say way as another; each of us is different. The difference is present to remind us that we are human and are prone to mistakes in judgment, frail by nature, and in need of a forgiving God.
My encouragement to you today is that you will come to grips with the side roads that you have been down in your life. The messes of your life that brought you to the Kingdom, are not a badge of shame; rather, they are a powerful testimony to a dying world that, “just as I made it, so can you”. You are precious in God’s sight no matter where you are or where you have been; God’s one desire is that you come to the knowledge of Salvation and that your name is written down in the Lamb’s book of life despite all that you have gone through.
“For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] [a]only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16 Amp)
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of [a]witnesses [who by faith have testified to the truth of God’s absolute faithfulness], stripping off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us, let us run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us, [looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, [b]disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of His work] (Hebrews 12:12 Amp).
Father,
Thank you for all who are reading these posts and finding encouragement through them. Doubtless, the enemy of our soul, the dragon of old, the serpent, and liar is telling the same old story to keep the people from knowing the truth about your love for mankind. Sin is a trap not a way of life and I know that you have loftier goals for our life then we can fully comprehend. May your good Spirit guide me, my families, my city, my state, my nation, and my world today.
