All He has Done
As I read through Psalms 107 this morning, I noticed that the key underlying message was “focusing on what God has done previously”. I believe this style of writing was used in order to allow the listener to reflect on the good things God has done in view of the struggles he or she is facing presently. As you know, all of us go through hills and valleys in our walk with God. When we forget all that God has done in previous issues of our life, we are vulnerable to falling on our face; because we become afraid, act irrationally, and run aimlessly. For this reason, the writer of the Psalm brings to our attention all that God has done in and through our life in view of the current struggles. Having this information is liken to arsenal because, it enables us to face not only the current struggles but, future struggles with courage and conviction knowing without a doubt that God will see us through. My encouragement for you today is, look back over your life and take an account, like the Psalmist did, of what has happened and how you are still standing today.
Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope:
I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore, I will wait for him.” (Lamentations 3:22-24 NASB)
Thank you for your great love for us. When we are in the midst of struggles, we can only see what we are going through not what we have been through. For this reason, I pray that you will always show us the past struggles to encourage us to face each and every trial with 100% assurance that we will make it through.
In His Name
