Daily Psalm 3/28/2021

The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and the One who rescues me; My God, my rock and strength in whom I trust and take refuge; My shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower—my stronghold. I call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; And I am saved from my enemies. The cords of death surrounded me, And the streams of ungodliness and torrents of destruction terrified me. The cords of Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead) surrounded me; The snares of death confronted me. In my distress [when I seemed surrounded] I called upon the LORD And cried to my God for help; He heard my voice from His temple, And my cry for help came before Him, into His very ears. Then the earth shook and quaked, The foundations of the mountains trembled; They were shaken because He was indignant and angry (Psalms 18:2-7).

Distress and troubles are a constant evolution that fills the life of mankind. G_d does not stop troubles from coming to our doors, He helps us to deal with them so that we grow stronger for the battles that face our lives. In the waning hours before the terrible crucifixion, Jesus prayed that it was possible for this hour to pass without the crucifixion occurring, please let it but understood that it was not his will but His will that mattered (Luke 22:39-46). In the same way, when we face trials that come to shake our faith, will stand in faith like Job or run away like Judas?

Thank you for all that you provide in our lives today. Because we are flesh and blood, we are susceptible to failure no matter who we are or how strong our faith is. Peter was faithful to you but still ran away when his life was in danger but you restored him. I pray for my family and families today that you will keep them no matter what trail they are facing. You are faithful and you are just. May your good spirit guide us today.
