Kings’ daughters are among Your noble ladies;
At Your right-hand stands the queen in gold from Ophir.
Hear, O daughter, consider and incline your ear [to my instruction]:
Forget your people and your father’s house;
Then the King will desire your beauty;
Because He is your Lord, bow down and honor Him (Psalms 45:9-11).
We are children of the Living G_d that is, we are adopted into His Kingdom by the blood of Jesus Christ. For adoption to occur, a legal document is created and this is called a “covenant”. When we accept the adoption decree, we agree to abide by the rules and laws of that family. Before we entered the covenant, we bowed down to the altars of materialism, greed, sexual immorality, greed, arrogance, and pride which led to our demise (Isaiah 53:6). We cannot live in both kingdoms any more than the new Queen of Israel could live by the rules of Egypt and honor her husband King Solomon.
What a privilege and honor it is to serve you the King of the Universe. There is no other kingdom and no other G_d that I would choose to serve. The prophet Elijah challenged the people just like Joshua by saying, “Choose you this day whom you will serve (Joshua 24:15, 1 Kings 18:20-40). The decision to whom we will serve is a personal choice and cannot be made by proclamation, law, or executive decree. Help me to serve you today in all that I do. Please be with my law enforcement community, military community, families, city, state, and nation.
