Blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God] is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked [following their advice and example],
Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit [down to rest] in the seat of scoffers (ridiculers).
But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And on His law [His precepts and teachings] he [habitually] meditates day and night (Psalms 1:1-2).
In his youth, David had been reared by the law of the Lord. When he became King of Israel and Judah, he copied the laws and commands of the Lord according to Mosaic law (Deuteronomy 17:18). The Word of G_d that we carry today is not a prop to make us look good, it is so that we may meditate on the word and allow His Holy Spirit to minister to our lives. Meditating on the word is just for the times when we are in trouble but for every day of our life that we may know the truth and be set free (John 8:31-32).
Thank you for your awesome word and power. Help me daily to be drenched in your word that I may always do that which pleases you. Please forgive me for the times I lapsed or made mistakes and help me to learn from those moments. I pray for my families, law enforcement officers, EMTs, military, teachers, city, state, and the US.
