Unto you, I lift up my eyes,
O You who are enthroned in the heavens!
Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master,
And as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress,
So our eyes look to the LORD our God,
Until He is gracious and favorable toward us.
Be gracious to us, O LORD, be gracious and favorable toward us,
For we are greatly filled with contempt.
Our soul is greatly filled
With the scoffing of those who are at ease,
And with the contempt of the proud [who disregard God’s law] (Psalms 123).
The rhetorical question we need to ask ourselves daily is, “Where does my help come from” (Psalms 121:1)? if the answer to our question is anything but “from the Lord”, we can be sure that we succeed, “pride will puff up in our heart” and if we fail, “it’s because G_d didn’t want me to have it anyway”. Walking in faith does not mean you will not experience troubles and trials. Consider Peter’s testimony “you are the Christ the son of the Living G_d” and Jesus’ response “Blessed [happy, spiritually secure, favored by God] are you, Simon son of Jonah because flesh and blood (mortal man) did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. And I say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock, I will build My church, and the gates of Hades (death) will not overpower it [by preventing the resurrection of the Christ]. I will give you the keys (authority) of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind [forbid, declare to be improper and unlawful] on earth will have [already] been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose [permit, declare lawful] on earth will have [already] been loosed in heaven.”
There is no other foundation by which a man may build on except for the one built on Jesus the Son of the Living G_d.” I want no other foundation in my life except the one laid by Master Carpenter. In every situation help me to trust in you and put your first in my life always. I pray for my families, my law enforcement officers, EMTs, teachers, ministers, my city of Stacy, the state of MN, and my USA. May your peace be upon this nation today and always.
