Daily Psalm 8/25/2021

My eyes anticipate the night watches and I awake before the call of the watchman,
That I may meditate on Your word.
Hear my voice according to Your [steadfast] lovingkindness;
O LORD, renew and refresh me according to Your ordinances.
Those who follow after wickedness approach;
They are far from Your law (Psalms 119:148-150).

Desiring G_d’s best for our life is something we need to earnestly seek. For us to anticipate anything means, we must prepare ourselves for whatever mission we are facing. The Psalmist, David anticipates the problems to come so he gets up a little while before daybreak to prepare his heart and mind. In the same way, Jesus would make it a point to get up while it was still early so he had time for prayer and meditation (Mark 1:35). I encourage everybody who reads these posts to allocate a set period of time each day to spend with the Lord; you will be amazed at how even 10-15 minutes a day will uplift your soul.

Father,

One single greatest thing in our arsenal is time. You desire that we spend time with you not because you are insecure but because you love us and desire your very best for our life. Help me to daily anticipate my schedule and find time each morning to spend with you. I pray for my family that you will be with each and every one of them. Be with the military, Law Enforcement, and EMT communities – please keep them safe so that they can return home at the end of the shift. I pray for the city of Stacy, the state of Minnesota, and the USA for your healing over the nation. Be with those who are struggling with illness and those grieving during these tumultuous days.
