Daily Psalm 8/27/2021

Deal bountifully with Your servant,
That I may live and keep Your word [treasuring it and being guided by it day by day].
Open my eyes [to spiritual truth] so that I may behold
Wonderful things from Your law.
I am a stranger on the earth;
Do not hide Your commandments from me (Psalm 119:17-19).

Many people start reading the Word of G_d but get nothing from it. As a young man, I started reading the Bible beginning at Genesis 1 and stopped by Genesis 3 because of the condition of my heart. Consider this, if you started to plant crops in a field but did nothing about the rocks, planting the seeds would not have yielded immediate fruit or at least the type you can eat. Reading the Word of G_d is an act of obedience. Before the Word of G_d will make any sense to us, we need the Spirit of the Living G_d living in our heart who cultivates the rocks from our heart. The seeds that were planted by our parents and friends in our youth come to life when the rocks are removed.

I pray for those who are just starting to read the Word of G_d. I pray that what is said in these posts will take root in people’s lives. I know it is not of my wisdom nor of my prowess for words that will convince people to serve you, it is the Spirit of the Living G_d who works all things in us. I pray for my family that you will watch over them wherever they may go and that you will guide them home. I pray for the military, law enforcement, and EMT communities that you will watch over these brave men and women and guide them safely home. I pray for the city of Stacy, the state of Minnesota, and the USA that your Spirit will once again flow upon them. I pray for the military who are preparing to come home that you will help the families to work together to overcome the obstacles that they will face. I pray especially for those who are affected by COVID 19 that you will watch over them in all things through Jesus I pray.
