Daily Psalm 1/30/2022

Oh sing to the LORD a new song;
sing to the LORD, all the earth!
Sing to the LORD, bless his name;
tell of his salvation from day-to-day (all of the time).
Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous works among all the peoples!
For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised;
he is to be feared above all gods.
For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols,
but the LORD made the heavens.
Splendor and majesty are before him;
strength and beauty are in his sanctuary. Psalms 96:1-6

Singing a new song means that we are changing our tune from “I am defeated” to “I am alive”. When we walk in the shadow of defeat and brokenness, we are unable to hear His voice speaking to our hearts. Consider COVID19 how it has destroyed many people over the course of the pandemic. As long as we have our eyes on its devastation, we will always wonder “am I next?”. When our eyes are on the cure, we find ways to protect ourselves and feel good about getting back together. In the same way when our eyes are on the Lord, the clouds of depression and anxiety lift and we find hope for our day.

Father,

Thank you for the glorious power of the cross of Calvary. It is the place where lives are restored, relationships are healed, and communities are restored. Help me today to sing a new song and that the lyrics speak to my heart and mind. I pray for those who are enduring great struggles today that they would receive fresh bread from the altar. I pray for the military, law enforcement, and EMT communities that you will be with every one of them and bring them safely home. I pray over our politicians that you will continue to shake them to their core with the message of the Ephod so that they fully understand who they serve. I pray for the city of Stacy, the state of Minnesota, and the USA may your Spirit fall fresh upon us. I thank you for healing our land by rain that refreshes the land and the storms that shake the heart of mankind. I pray for those who need a special touch from you today. Finally, I pray that my words will always be an encouragement to all who read these words in Jesus’ name I pray. May your peace be upon my family, city, state, nation, and world. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer (Psalms 19:14).
