Daily Psalm for 2/1/2022

I will sing of steadfast love and justice;
to you, O LORD, I will make music.
I will ponder the way that is blameless.
Oh, when will you come to me?
I will walk with integrity of heart
within my house;
I will not set before my eyes
anything that is worthless.
I hate the work of those who fall away;
it shall not cling to me.
A perverse heart shall be far from me;
I will know nothing of evil. Psalms 101:1-4

Walking with integrity is easier said than done. The reason for that is, we have a common enemy called the “Devil of old”, our families, and our peer groups which try to talk us into things we may or may not agree with. Part of the reason Jesus said, “I come to bring a sword …” (Matthew 10:34-36) is that when we told our families about our conversion, age-old traditions stand in the way of victory. Reading the Word of G-d is free but applying its teachings will cost you everything. For this reason, Jesus said, “Count the cost …” (Luke 14:25-33).

As I come before you today armed with your Word, please help me to count the cost of every mission you send me on. I want to be obedient all of the time but I falter in many areas of my life. I know that you forgive my failures, but I don’t want to live only 1/2 of the whole you have in mind for me. Help me to daily surrender those areas of my life that run awry of your commands. May I what I do today be pleasing to you my Lord, my Redeemer, my Judge, and the G-d I seek to serve. I pray for the military, law enforcement, and EMT communities that you will be with every one of them and bring them safely home. I pray over our politicians that you will continue to shake them to their core with the message of the Ephod so that they fully understand who they serve. I pray for the city of Stacy, the state of Minnesota, and the USA may your Spirit fall fresh upon us. I thank you for healing our land by rain that refreshes the land and the storms that shake the heart of mankind. I pray for those who need a special touch from you today. Finally, I pray that my words will always be an encouragement to all who read these words in Jesus’ name I pray. May your peace be upon my family, city, state, nation, and world. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer (Psalms 19:14).
