Daily Psalm 2/3/2022

LORD, you were favorable to your land;
you restored the fortunes of Jacob.
You forgave the iniquity of your people;
you covered all their sin. Selah
You withdrew all your wrath;
you turned from your hot anger.
Restore us again, O God of our salvation,
and put away your indignation toward us!
Will you be angry with us forever?
Will you prolong your anger to all generations?
Will you not revive us again,
that your people may rejoice in you?
Show us your steadfast love, O LORD,
and grant us your salvation. Psalms 85:1-7

When you read the Word of G-d, you will notice that it talks about people that had everything going for them but they still wanted something else; David was one of those people. After having Bathsheba’s husband put to death by the sword of the Ammonites, David’s life was irrevocably changed. The child that Bathsheba conceived died shortly after its birth. After the child passed, the wheels started coming off of the axels with his son Amnon raping his brother Absalom’s sister Tamar. Later, Amnon was killed by David’s sons and the coup de gras was Absalom’s attempted coup. So you see two worlds one is blessed by the Lord and the other is not. When we sin, whatever we accomplished before the sin needs to be forgotten because you start from where you are. It is for this reason that we are admonished to be “Holy before the Lord” so that we do not have to pray this prayer. Will we be forgiven when we ask, for it? Absolutely.

As I look at the life of David and his son, I know that you have plans for our lives and that you will be faithful. You don’t call me to be a “perfect specimen”, you call me to honor you in all that I say and do. It would be better if we never had to pray this prayer than to have to pray it and wait for you. For this reason, please help me to keep these things in view as I make decisions about my life and that of my family. Help me daily to remember to put on all of the weapons of warfare and to above all wear the ephod that I will remember those I serve or who rely on me. I pray for the military, law enforcement, and EMT communities that you will be with every one of them and bring them safely home. I pray over our politicians that you will continue to shake them to their core with the message of the Ephod so that they fully understand who they serve. I pray for the city of Stacy, the state of Minnesota, and the USA may your Spirit fall fresh upon us. I thank you for healing our land by rain that refreshes the land and the storms that shake the heart of mankind. I pray for those who need a special touch from you today. Finally, I pray that my words will always be an encouragement to all who read these words in Jesus’ name I pray. May your peace be upon my family, city, state, nation, and world. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer (Psalms 19:14).
