Daily Psalm 2/6/2022

My steadfast love, I will keep for him forever,
and my covenant will stand firm for him.
I will establish his offspring forever
and his throne as the days of the heavens.
If his children forsake my law
and do not walk according to my rules,
if they violate my statutes
and do not keep my commandments,
then I will punish their transgression with the rod
and their iniquity with stripes,
but I will not remove from him my steadfast love
or be false to my faithfulness.
I will not violate my covenant
or alter the word that went forth from my lips. Psalms 89:28-34

David was promised an “enduring kingdom” early in his reign because he was faithful to the Lord from the early days of his youth. Having faith in the Lord is not a mere “thought process”, it is a conviction that will carry us through the storms. David taught his children the laws of the Lord and lived according to them until he met his waterloo and that being Bathsheba. Although he was admonished for his sins and punished, David never lost faith in the Lord. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren suffered for their sins and were punished accordingly. Loving someone is not equated to “glossing over sin”. True love leaves a door open for the repentant one to return sort of like the case of Jon Mark.

You love us despite where we are or the direction we are taking. You have an open doorway for us to return when if we want to. Discipline is the part of love that no one likes but it is a very important part of our growth. Please help me today to live for you in all that I do. May you be with those who are struggling today and that these words be an encouragement to them. I pray for the military, law enforcement, and EMT communities that you will be with every one of them and bring them safely home. I pray over our politicians that you will continue to shake them to their core with the message of the Ephod so that they fully understand who they serve. I pray for the city of Stacy, the state of Minnesota, and the USA may your Spirit fall fresh upon us. I thank you for healing our land by rain that refreshes the land and the storms that shake the heart of mankind. I pray for those who need a special touch from you today. Finally, I pray that my words will always be an encouragement to all who read these words in Jesus’ name I pray. May your peace be upon my family, city, state, nation, and world. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer (Psalms 19:14).
