Daily Psalm for 2/11/2022

O you who love the LORD, hate evil!
He preserves the lives of his saints;
he delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
Light is sown for the righteous,
and joy for the upright in heart.
Rejoice in the LORD, O you righteous,
and give thanks to his holy name! Psalms 97:10-12

When the Pharisees told Jesus to castigate his people for singing “Hosanna to the King who comes in the name of the Lord”, he said, “I tell you if these people keep silent, the rocks and hills will continue to cry out” (Luke 19:39-40). Here’s the thing, if we refuse to praise the Lord for what he has done in and through our lives, someone will and we’ll lose His blessings. In the same way when we take His blessings for granted like “they will always remain”, one day we’ll wake up and find them gone. The enemy of our soul, the Devil of old, will tell us “you earned ____, why should you give G-d the credit?”. The reason we give G-d the credit is two-fold, “every good and perfect thing comes from Him” (James 1:17), and “what He asks of us, He also provides the resources (Philippians 1:6). Praising the Lord and honoring His word is more than a song, it is a way of life that is paved by obedience (John 14:15-17).

You do so much in and through my life that if I were to number them, it would be beyond comprehension. The thing is, when I do not praise you or even consider what you have done, you will do no more until I come to my senses. The reason for this is, “You give your glory to no one including me” (Isaiah 42:8). You bless us not for your benefit but for ours. You desire great things for our lives but when our eyes are not on you, we fall woefully short. I pray for this nation Lord for your forgiveness and mercy. I pray for the military, law enforcement, and EMT communities that you will be with every one of them and bring them safely home. I pray over our politicians that you will continue to shake them to their core with the message of the Ephod so that they fully understand who they serve. I pray for the city of Stacy, the state of Minnesota, and the USA may your Spirit fall fresh upon us. I thank you for healing our land by rain that refreshes the land and the storms that shake the heart of mankind. I pray for those who need a special touch from you today. Finally, I pray that my words will always be an encouragement to all who read these words in Jesus’ name I pray. May your peace be upon my family, city, state, nation, and world. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer (Psalms 19:14).
