I hate those who pay regard to worthless idols,
but I trust in the LORD.
I will rejoice and be glad in your steadfast love
because you have seen my affliction;
you have known the distress of my soul,
and you have not delivered me into the hand of the enemy;
you have set my feet in a broad place. Psalms 31:6-8
When we are tempted by sin, the Devil’s minions tell us “no one will know” and “everyone does it”. By justifying our actions, we lie to ourselves so that we do not come to the Lord sort of like Adam and Eve. The Lord knows the struggles we have with sin’s influence and does not brush it off like one would a fly. Instead, He calls us to himself and provides a way out so that we do not capitulate. When we sin, like David did, He helps us to pick up the pieces of our broken hearts and puts them back together again without shaking his head, judging, and/or condemning us. In the same way, when other people sin against us, we need to take a page out of this book and apply it to our lives so that we can face whatever comes against us.
Sin is not the end of the matter, it is the beginning of a new chapter. We have no power nor authority to alter the spin of the world, the sun, and/or moon but we do have control over our hearts. I pray for my world today Lord, especially what is going on in Ukraine that there be a resolution and quickly. I pray for my families and friends as well as those enduring the struggle with COVID. I pray for the military, law enforcement, and EMT communities that you will be with every one of them and bring them safely home. I pray over our politicians that you will continue to shake them to their core with the message of the Ephod so that they fully understand who they serve. I pray for the city of Stacy, the state of Minnesota, and the USA may your Spirit fall fresh upon us. I pray for the truckers who carry supplies to our communities. I thank you for healing our land by rain that refreshes the land and the storms that shake the heart of mankind. I pray for those who need a special touch from you today. Finally, I pray that my words will always be an encouragement to all who read these words in Jesus’ name I pray. May your peace be upon my family, city, state, nation, and world. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer (Psalms 19:14).
