I have been young, and now am old,
yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken
or his children begging for bread.
He is ever lending generously,
and his children become a blessing.
Turn away from evil and do good;
so shall you dwell forever?
For the LORD loves justice;
he will not forsake his saints.
They are preserved forever,
but the children of the wicked shall be cut off.
The righteous shall inherit the land
and dwell upon it forever. Psalms 37:25-29
The Devil, although our common enemy, is not the biggest threat that we face today, it is needless “fear”, “Worry”, and “Anxiety” that compel us to do things we would not normally do. Consider how fear and worry compelled Saul to offer “sacrifice” which was only to be done by the priests. As you remember, this was the start of Saul’s problems that would end with his dismissal. It is for this reason that we are admonished to “banish fear …” which literally means to “remove its influence and its hold over our lives”. A Pastoral friend of mine once said to me, “don’t leave chains hanging from your life for the Devil to jerk on”. The thing is, the only way to keep chains from hanging from our life is to take care of business while it is in front of us so that we are not negatively impacted.
As Easter approaches and a time of “renewal”, help me today and every day to make it a good practice to take care of business while it is before me. The Devil knows me all too well and because of it knows the triggers to pull and how long to hold on to them. I know that you provide for all of our needs but somehow fear, worry, and doubt creep in. In those times, please help me to make a sound practice to remind the enemy who is in control and never lose faith in you. I pray for the people of Ukraine as they are dealing with war in the region. I pray for those who are dealing with the negative affects of COVID 19 and Omicron. I pray for the military, law enforcement, and EMT communities that you will be with every one of them and bring them safely home. I pray over our politicians that you will continue to shake them to their core with the message of the Ephod so that they fully understand who they serve. I pray for the city of Stacy, the state of Minnesota, and the USA may your Spirit fall fresh upon us. I pray for the truckers who carry supplies to our communities. I thank you for healing our land by rain that refreshes the land and the storms that shake the heart of mankind. I pray for those who need a special touch from you today. Finally, I pray that my words will always be an encouragement to all who read these words in Jesus’ name I pray. May your peace be upon my family, city, state, nation, and world. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer (Psalms 19:14).
