Daily Psalm for 3/27/2022

Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your steadfast love;
according to your abundant mercy
blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
and cleanse me from my sin!
For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is ever before me.
Against you, you only, have I sinned
and done what is evil in your sight,
so that you may be justified in your words
and blameless in your judgment.
Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity,
and in sin did my mother conceive me.
Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being,
and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart. Psalms 51:1-6

Our life does not end because of sin, but it is a “stopping place of sorts”. Sometimes those “stopping places” are in a prison cell either a spiritual or physical one. When we deal with our sin by confessing, repenting, and accepting whatever consequences may come as a result, a new pathway is opened for us. The pathway from sin to repentance is paved with pain, frustration, and anger. David’s family would pay dearly for his actions because of learned behaviors and a sliding scale of righteousness. I personally testify that when sin entered my heart, I dealt with the repercussions for over 10 years which was in the middle of raising our sons. Do I wish I could undo my choices? Absolutely! The problem is that focusing on the “if I only” compels us to change our focus from the present struggles and possibilities to the past failures. To move past sin’s trap, we need the Lord which is better done before committing sin but it also applies after we sin.

Sin is a tragic play because we start off healthy and alive but it tempts us and then ensnares us. you give us control over our life and part of that is making choices about the direction of our life and family. Please help me to keep a careful watch over my life choices so that my family will not have to pay the price. Thank you for getting me past the 10 years of struggle and the pathway you have paved. My past is not as important as the future before me. I know that there are many people, even some of my readers, who have been in a perpetual spiritual prison I pray that this Easter will be a new season in their life. I pray for the people of Ukraine and Russia that the present difficulties will be dealt with and not the type of peace guaranteed by the world. I pray for the military, law enforcement, and EMT communities that you will be with every one of them and bring them safely home. I pray over our politicians that you will continue to shake them to their core with the message of the Ephod so that they fully understand who they serve. I pray for the city of Stacy, the state of Minnesota, and the USA may your Spirit fall fresh upon us. I pray for the truckers who carry supplies to our communities. I thank you for healing our land by rain that refreshes the land and the storms that shake the heart of mankind. I pray for those who need a special touch from you today. Finally, I pray that my words will always be an encouragement to all who read these words in Jesus’ name I pray. May your peace be upon my family, city, state, nation, and world. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer (Psalms 19:14).
