Morning Encouragement for 5/24/2022

Good Morning,

There are oddities about G-d that are often hard to understand. To me, one of the hardest is that G-d doesn’t tell us what to do or what not to do. Instead, His word is like a “fork in the road”. WHen we are about to embark on a bad decision, He doesn’t tackle us and force us into compliance rather, His word tells what will happen in the end it is on us to find out about the “middle”. Not everybody will make the same decision and what is good for one is not necessarily good for the other because each of us has different circumstances. Making a decision is not easy especially when it affects people on either side of the fork. Consider Rebekah’s direction to Jacob, if he obeyed his mother he would receive his father’s blessing; if he had not, he would therefore be cursed and the prophecy would be circumvented or so he thought. Stepping out in faith is a difficult prospect because we don’t always see G-d’s plan forming and we have no idea why He has directed us to __. Thankfully we have the two “Great Commandments”. If our goal in life is to please G-d, we will be obedient to what is asked of us and thereby bless ourselves, our families, and our communities. If we treat others as we want to be treated, we will have peace in our homes.

Readings: Genesis 27:5-13, Matthew 22:26-30, Ecclesiastes 12:9-13, Psalms 29, 2 Peter 1:3-11

Father,

Above all things you are G-d and you know the beginning and the end of every matter. You have witnessed the rise and fall of many cultures. Your word promises us that if we are obedient we will enjoy the good fruit of the land and peace in our homes. Unfortunately, You do not tell us what will happen with each and every step we make any more than You will force us into compliance. Without doubt both ends of a decision will cause pain at some point or another if this were not so, Jesus’ crucifixion would be painless and he would have laughed with every strike of the hammer. So when we make decisions, please help us to consider everyone that is affected by our choices and then help us to step out in faith. Thank you for my families, friends, city, state, and nation. Please cover my families, city, state, and nation today. As the world is on the brink of war, help us to consider the events of the previous wars and then step back from the edge. I pray for the military, law enforcement, and EMT communities that you will be with every one of them and bring them safely home. I pray over our politicians that you will continue to shake them to their core with the message of the Ephod so that they fully understand who they serve. I pray for the city of Stacy, the state of Minnesota, and the USA may your Spirit fall fresh upon us. I pray for the truckers who carry supplies to our communities. I thank you for healing our land by rain that refreshes the land and the storms that shake the heart of mankind. I pray for those who need a special touch from you today. Finally, I pray that my words will always be an encouragement to all who read these words in Jesus’ name I pray. May your peace be upon my family, city, state, nation, and world. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer (Psalms 19:14).
