Daily Psalm 9/18/2021

I have chosen the way of faithfulness;
I set your rules before me.
I cling to your testimonies, O LORD;
let me not be put to shame!
I will run in the way of your commandments
when you enlarge my heart (Psalms 119:30-32).

It has been said in Social media circles “I will run away to ____  country because my country is going to Hell in Handbasket.” The thing is, faith says “I will stand fast and not be moved by fear”. When we put G_d’s commandments first and foremost in our minds and hearts, we will not be swayed by the world’s ways and fear and worry will dissipate. Faith does not make problems disappear nor does it imply that we wear “Rose-colored glasses”. Faith says, “I see the problems but I will face them head-on; if it is a mountain, I will find a way through it; if it is an ocean, I will swim through it; in the darkness, I will light a lamp to guide my path.

Faith does not come easy because we are human and we tend to give in easily to our fears and doubts but, if we can simply take one step forward, the next will come easier. Help me to daily arm myself with your word and make room for you in my life. I cannot change the world but I can change myself and therefore be a light that draws others in. We, your children, are not Polly Anna, and nor do you want us to pretend to be her. You know we all have problems and shortcomings and you are not blind to them. You allow troubles to confront us that we might grow stronger and more resilient to face the deeper problems that are coming our way. I pray for the military, law enforcement, and EMT communities that you will be with every one of them and bring them safely home. I pray over our politicians that you will shake them to their core with the message of the Ephod so that they fully understand who they serve. I pray for the city of Stacy, the state of Minnesota, and the USA may your Spirit fall fresh upon us. I thank you for healing our land by rain that refreshes the land and the storms that shake the heart of mankind. I pray that my words will always be an encouragement to all who read these words in Jesus’ name I pray.
